About
London Sakya Dzongpa Vajrayana Centre, a branch of the Sakya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, upholds the legacy of Dorje Dhenpa Gongkar Namgyal. Rooted in London, UK, we strive to spread compassion and mindfulness.
All sentient beings, regardless of their background, culture, or beliefs, share the fundamental desire to be free from suffering and to experience happiness.
However, due to a lack of understanding of the true causes of suffering, they often engage in actions that unintentionally generate suffering instead of eliminating it.
According to Buddhist teachings, suffering does not occur randomly or due to external forces alone. Instead, its root cause is ignorance (avidya)—a fundamental misunderstanding of reality.
Because of this ignorance, people develop a distorted view of themselves and the world, leading them to act in ways that perpetuate suffering.
Greed (Raga) – Attachment to what brings pleasure or comfort.
Hatred (Dvesha) – Aversion or anger toward things we dislike or find unpleasant.
Delusion (Moha) – Ignorance or confusion about the true nature of reality.
